Choosing the Right Caregiver

 

It is important to choose the right caregiver because you want someone you can trust. You want to make sure they have the right skills to do the job. You also want someone that is caring and loves the work that they do. So you will have peace of mind. You want to pick the right caregiver because you want it to be affordable.  You want someone who is able to accommodate your parent’s individual preferences or cultural activities. 

Personal Care

 

Bathing:

Help seniors maintain proper hygiene and refresh their sense of well-being·

 

Mobility assistance:

Promote activity and exercise for a more healthful lifestyle as well as improved mood, decreased stress and increased mental alertness.

Transferring and positioning seniors:

Help maintain functional activity; relieve pressure areas on the skin; reduce atrophy and stiffening of muscles; and promote proper breathing, digestion and elimination·

 

Toileting and incontinence:

Sensitively help seniors maintain dignity as they manage with a loss of independence·

 

Feeding and special diet and meal preparation:

Make certain seniors get the proper nutrition to maintain good health and control medical conditions

Who we are

My Faith Inc is a Community Service Agency. We provide Medicaid Waiver Home and Community Based Services (CHOICES) in Shelby and Fayette County. Services include Respite, Personal Care, Personal Care Attendant and Homemaker. We also provide medication education and management on an as needed based by a licensed Pharmacist. Personal Attendant Services

 

Light housekeeping:

Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, taking out the trash, straightening rooms, organizing closets and drawers.

 

Light Errands:

Picking up prescriptions and going to the post office

Grocery shopping:

Either with or without the client

 

Medication reminders:

In-home caregivers cannot administer medications, but can remind the client to take medications and assist in opening medication containers and reading labels

 

Incidental transportation:

Doctor appointments, barbershops, beauty salons, shopping, wherever the client likes or needs to go

 

Laundry assistance:

Washing, drying, ironing and putting things away
